Two years after the release of Upside Down Mountain - his sixth solo offering and first via Nonesuch Records - Conor Oberst is back with a brand new album this October.

Ruminations is the result of 48 hours spent in the studio with collaborator Mike Mogis and engineer Ben Brodin, who helped the musician put to tape the bleak soundtrack of the aftermath of a serious health scare he suffered. Ruminations is a highly personal, stripped-down affair that sees the musician looking inside himself more than ever.

Ahead of its October 14th release date, you can stream it in full over at NPR.
