Jim Caesar's Twitter biog simply states "Viber/ vibewriter" and honestly, that's a pretty accurate description for this 20-year-old. Originally from Chesham, the grade 8 pianist moved to London to focus his efforts on his musical endeavours and he seems to be doing well so far; his video for 'Breakfast On The Moon' managed to find a place on Noisey while Zane Lowe championed the track as part of his 'Next Hype' series on BBC Radio 1 last summer.

Caesar's latest release 'Artefact' - which we're premiering here on The 405 - up's the tempo just a little with inspiration for the track ranging from 'N Sync to Indiana Jones. There's a little restraint in the production but it works highly in its favour, with the delicious bass line in the chorus adding a touch of '80s flavour. Its release comes courtesy of Becky Tong's Juicebox FM and is the first of a number of releases that will be coming from young Caesar in the coming months ahead of a full EP that's expected to be released later this year. "'Artefact' is a fun song about knowing your worth as an individual," he said via email. "It's loosely based on the heart-ripping scene from Indiana Jones and the temple of doom. It's the jump off track coz it's straight fiyah and it reminds me of NSync."
