Recently, JP Cooper has been branching away from his original acoustic driven sound and experimenting with new fuller, richer sounds yet still managing to remain true to his Soul/R&B-influenced sound. His recent collaborations with the likes of SG Lewis and production duo iLL BLU have been successful examples of his capabilities of what can be achieved when he steps out of his comfort zone.

It's been over a year since he released his When The Darkness Comes EP and thanks in part to those earlier collaborations, his new single 'Five More Days' is another experimental slice of funk-flavoured soul, effortlessly showcasing his musical development and growth in recent years. 'Five More Days' also includes a somewhat unexpected feature from rising north London rapper Avelino (however JP is no stranger to working with rappers) and connects JP with songwriter Kid Harpoon. "It was a great track to work on and a real collaboration with Kid Harpoon and Avelino, who are as much a part of this track as I am," JP said in a press release. "It's definitely an excursion from what people might expect from me; but, it's another opportunity for me to be free stylistically and that's what excites me..."

'Five More Days' is available now on iTunes via Island Records.
