Norwegian 6 piece Kid Astray apparently work really, really well under pressure. Back in 2013 they wrote, recorded, and mixed their track 'The Mess' in only 6 hours to make the deadline for a radio contest in their home country, but I don't think they could have ever predicted what was to come of that. 'The Mess' won the contest and was then picked up by SiriusXM tastemakers Alt Nation (where I was first introduced to the band), and now it has over half a million plays on Soundcloud - not too shabby!

Since then, they've shared a handful of new songs including 'No Easy Way Out', 'Taking You With Me', and 'Back to the Ordinary'. 2015 marks a new and exciting chapter for the band, who announced their debut album Home Before the Dark alongside its first track 'Still Chasing Nothing', and today we have the exclusive premiere of the album's second cut 'It's Alright'.

'It's Alright' is a huge step forward for the band with shiny production courtesy of Joe Cross, complete with huge, bombastic hooks and relatable lyrics about fighting your way out of tough times in your life and turning some bad habits into more positive ones. In the same vein as The Colourist or Fickle Friends, it looks like when Home Before the Dark is out on 15 June, it could be just the release to catapult them into the alt-rock stratosphere.
