London producer Jim Coles, aka Om Unit, likes to experiment and keep us guessing. This is good because it means that, once again, he’s producing some exciting stuff and this stuff is mostly his new album Threads. What's even more exciting is that it is now available to stream in full through Civil Music.

This is Cole's first album under the Om Unit moniker and a more versatile venture from his previous hip-hop releases as 2tall, and footwork jungle as Phillip D Kicks.

It's an eclectic yet mature album that still see’s references to his earlier instrumental and footwork forays but introduces a maturity as he showcases a talent for experimentation.

There are also welcome contributions from Young Echo’s MC Jabu, Charlie Drak and Jinadu. This may look like a coming of age album for this producer but it's more than likely that this is still just another chapter in Cole's ever-evolving career. [via FACT]
