For years 'Reckless Jane', a song Beverley Martyn wrote with Nick Drake, sat unfinished and unheard. The British folk singer found it too painful in the wake of Drake's premature death, and put it away for four decades. Then one day, she decided to finish and record it for her upcoming new album The Phoenix and the Turtle. Drake is absent from the version, but you can hear his influence, and the strings seem to mourn him despite the song's light-hearted nature. Listen below.
