East London based musician Rival isn't a newcomer - far from it. While he's probably been around for longer, he began to gain some considerable recognition in 2010 along with a crop of "new generation" Grime MC's. Between then and now, he's remained in and around the Grime scene, frequently releasing new collections of music in the form of mixtapes and individual releases; some of which have showcased his talent and fearlessness in experimenting with different sounds outside of a typical 140bpm Grime beat. In 2014 he supported close friend Ghetts on his UK tour while also finding time to simply grow and explore life in general; something I think all musicians need to do at some point in their careers.

With a full length album finally on the horizon, over the last week or so Rival has been releasing a number of throwaway and leftover tracks that aren't set to be included on the LP. The 'Victory Interlude' is one of them and one that he should probably reconsider for inclusion. Laid-back and relaxed, Rival's quick-fire delivery contrasts the CRT and Holy Rain production to perfection. Listen closely for a little sample from a certain dance-heavy LA-based singer who loves to get 2 On reimagined by vocalist Brookë. Be sure to check out his SoundCloud page for more musical greatness.
