Glasgow's bis will return with data Panik etcetera, their first proper release since 2001's Return to Central. The band's future has been stop and start ever since their initial breakup in 2003, there's been a handful of reunion shows, and version of the band reformed briefly as Data Panik, a short-lived project that ended after the release of just two 7" singles. data Panik etcetera will modernise the recordings from this project, alongside other songs from other long abandoned versions of a fourth bis album. The songs are said to take influence from "skinny-tie, new-wave pop songs, and disconcerting goth-techno".

data Panik etcetera's official release through Do Yourself In is set for the 5th May 2014, but a vinyl edition will be out on the 19th April for Record Store Day, where they will also release new song 'Minimum Wage' as a split 7" with Birmingham's Ghost of Dead Airplanes

bis' new rolling synth rollick 'Rulers and the States' is available to stream right now.
