On 'Runner,' the second single released this year from Upperfields, songwriting moniker of Bucks County, PA native Shaun Gould, there is tenderness and composure in every note struck. Even within the first measure, there is a sensation of comfort and openness; a phone call from an old friend, the familiarities of home. The gorgeous folk-pop tune stemmed from a series of vivid dreams Gould had as a 15 year-old while laid up in a hospital bed, which he recently described to Yvynyl.

Lyrically and vocally, Gould is consistently on-point. Bandmates Lee Clarke and Justin Leigh provide a steady, upbeat backbone to the rather eerie daydream Gould has created. Dig in to 'Runner' below and be on the lookout for a debut full length in late 2014.
