Although they're Los Angeles-based, there's a distinct San Franciscan quality to Tashaki Miyaki's 'City' that emerges from its very first chords until its delicate, dream-like ending.

Slightly reminiscent of the Bay Area's indie/alternative golden age while keeping a foot in L.A.'s Paisley Underground heritage, the brilliant track serves as an introduction to the band's proper debut album The Dream, released last month via Metropolis Records. 'City' encapsulates the band's delicate yet piercing noir-pop spirit, with Tashaki's ethereal vocals cradling the listener into a paradoxical sense of safety and doom.
