We've been following the rising career of 24 year old Los Angeles-based musician Bryan Sammis, or Olivver the Kid, for quite a while now. We fell in love at first listen with his 80's infused R&B sound on 'Freak' and the rest of his debut EP the same way we did with the acoustic renditions of those same songs. Those are just a few of the multitude of reasons why we're beyond thrilled to premiere his brand new single 'I Want It', which features slick production by Taste and Tone.

I was lucky enough to hear 'I Want It' live last week at the opening date of the American Youth Tour and it took a total of maybe five seconds - right when he hits that gorgeous falsetto - that the shrieks from the girls in the crowd almost overtook his vocals in a way I hadn't heard since the last time I saw massive groups like The 1975 or Bastille. It makes sense though, as the huge beats paired with his smooth-as-silk voice and relatable lyrics - 'Never wanted me around / it's all my fault / I'm a fuck up for sure' - are a match made in heaven and gives every indication that he could easily take over the alt-rock world like the aforementioned groups, and you can listen to 'I Want It' below!

Olivver the Kid is headed to Dallas tonight before he makes his way to SXSW in Austin for a pair of gigs on the 20th. Details on both of his SXSW shows and the rest of his tour itinerary supporting Young Rising Sons and Halsey can be found after the track!
