Mackenzie Scott, aka Torres, was one of the strongest new artists to emerge last year, and for her first post-debut album move she's teamed up with Sharon Van Etten, Adam Granduciel and Dave Hartley of The War on Drugs, and Ted Leo and the Pharmicists drummer Chris Wilson (basically a dream team for anyone that loves Indie Rock with Folk leanings) to record a song for Shaking Through, a web series curated by Philadelphia non-profit Weathervane Music. The Scott-fronted-supergroup recorded a version of 'New Skin', a song that will appear in a different form on her upcoming sophomore album. You can almost add Cormac McCarthy to the track's features list too, because it quotes his 1973 novel Child of God almost directly. Stream it below.
