Less than two seconds into the new music video from Superbody and you start to get the sense that this pop duo from Tennessee exists out of time. The muted pastels, the sharp lines and boxy clothes are superficial indicators of an 80s fixation, but Superbody doesn't merely look the part. You'd be hard pressed to find a better heir to Hall & Oates' goofy pop-soul mantle than this pair of self-aware and awesomely talented musicians.

Superbody is following up their 2015 debut, Hades Land, with a new album entitled Youth Music, which is due out on March 24. The band has previewed that album with 'Patricia,' a bouncy ode to a complicated significant other. Multi-instrumentalist Caleb Dills sets the mood with an array of twinkling synths before vocalist Robert McCurry comes into the scene with a voice so drenched in 80s styling that you can almost hear his mullet.

The end result is an effortlessly pleasing slice of pop magic that wets one's appetite for what Superbody has just around the corner. Check out 'Patricia' below and keep your eyes peeled for Youth Music in the spring.
