According to polling company ICM Unlimited, nearly half of UK vinyl buyers don't even have a turntable to listen to their albums on. The stats state that only 52% of UK adults purchasing the LPs even have the proper equipment or even wish to give them a spin. The survey's press release came just in time for Record Store Day this past weekend, stating that people mostly seem to collect vinyl as a hobby or for their artwork.

Vinyl sales have skyrocketed lately, as last year recorded 2.1 million units sold, which is a 210year high. The biggest selling UK vinyl album of the year so far was David Bowie's ★ (Blackstar).
