It's tough for small bands to navigate the treacherous seas that is the current music industry, and sometimes things don't have the happiest of endings. Unfortunately, Swiss Lips weren't able to rise above, and called it quits just 6 months after releasing their debut album due to major label complications. Before they leave us, though, they're giving us one pretty huge parting gift - an entire brand new album!

Overflowing Futures is the name of that record and it's out on 21 August, filled with a bunch of unreleased material and remixes, like the one we're premiering for you today. Dan Smith from Bastille put his spin on the Lips' tune 'U Got the Power,' which was the band's breakout single way back in 2013. It's a playful electro-pop gem with a crazily infectious chorus and showcases just why they were poised to do such huge things for so long. Below, you can read a quote from the band discussing their unexpected breakup, and you can stream the 'U Got the Power' remix after that. R.I.P., Swiss Lips.

“We have decided that this is the end for Swiss Lips. The thing we loved the most became a drain, it's pretty gruesome out there for a small band in 2015. To anyone who cares or cared, we thank you for coming along for the ride, and more importantly for the support you gave, we truly appreciate it and had some amazing times. All ends bring new beginnings, hopefully see you around. Sam, Luke, Tim, Tom & Nic.”
