SWN Festival has revealed details of the first round of bands to play in the various venues around Cardiff.

Now in it's fifth year, the festival has become quite the cultural musical powerhouse for Wales - and this is reflected in the rush for tickets last year; and subsequently has now seen the festival rewarded with an extra day. It'll now take place from Thursday through to Sunday (20th - 23rd October 2011).

Acts such as The Joy Formidable, The Fall and And So I Watch You From Afar are in, and two-hundred bands will ultimately feature though for now you'll have to make do with these confirmations:

Among Brothers, And So I Watch You From Afar, Apostles, Ashtray Navigations, Al Lewis, Barefoot Dance of the Sea, Battlekat, Ben Howard, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Bleeding Heart Narrative, Chailo Sim, Colorama, Creatures of Love, Daughter, Dots., Eagulls, Echo Lake, Effort, Elephant, Elephant Stone, Gavin Osborn, Herman Dune, H.Hawkline, Houdini Dax, Jen Jeniro, Joseph & David, and Lets Buy Happiness.

Okay, we're half-way through now. Have a breather. Have a Welsh Cake.

Continued:
