Head here to read Report #1.

I tried to take it easy today but I don't think I did a very good job. Maybe I did in rock 'n roll terms but FOMO was kicking in so I went back to Hotel Vegas. I don't mean to spend all of my time there, but it's badass and everyone's a babe. Tomorrow is for strange new things, I promise.

Ashley (who took all of the lovely photos you see here) and I met Gooch Palms (Newcastle, Australia) in Memphis at Gonerfest in September, so it was exciting to see them again. They are a two piece crazy wild time. Usually Leroy (vocals/guitar) gets naked, but they just moved to the States so he decided to play it safe and just show a lot of butt. Always a really fun live performance.

My new favorite band is called Sheer Mag (Philadelphia, PA) and they kick so much ass! I wanted to ask Christina (vocals) some silly interview questions but she said no. Maybe next time. This band is so great! I'm having a hard time deciding how to describe them. I want to say it's pop punk in the best way possible, but that phrase always reminds me of New Found Glory and that is totally not how I mean it. They don't sound anything like New Found Glory. They are a hard pop band, very tight and punchy and just fun the whole time. My punk rock friend Trek liked them a lot too. I love them. They're great. Give 'em a listen.

Iceage (Copenhagen, Denmark) was something I was really interested hearing, but I can't tell yet if I like it or not. I think it reminds me of like dark crooked Bauhaus coffee table books, which doesn't make that much sense either. Sorry. I want to like them. I've yet to listen to their record, so I don't know how fair my review is but I'll do some research.

Spray Paint (Austin, TX) played too! I've seen them many times already but it was nice to hear them on a big ole stage. They kinda sound like a goofier, less angry version of Wire. Nice guys. I talked to my buddy Corey (vocals/bass) about traveling and life and stuff and he said I was doing everything right. I don't know if he was just trying to be nice, but I'll take it. If getting to write about bands I see is work and it's what I should be doing, then I wanna work forever.
