'Hometown Blues', a new track from Syd Arthur's forthcoming album Sound Mirror, might make you realise one thing. They're not the same band they were when they released their debut album, On and On, back in 2012. It was the album that made them, but a lot has happened since then. They've jammed with Paul Weller, opened for the likes of Vampire Weekend and the Pixies, and looked upon the higher echelons of Rock with their own eyes and realised their own potential.

This taste of their new direction isn't Progressive Rock in its traditional sense; it's Progressive Rock in its truest, a piece of a complete album that sounds nothing like what comes before it or after it.

Sound Mirror is out June 2nd via Harvest Records
