Body Type are a foursome hailing from Sydney, Australia, who have just announced the details of their debut EP: it's a self-titled six-track affair that will be coming out through Partisan Records on October 19th. Along with the announcement, they've also shared a new song and video called 'Palms', which deals with the inconsistencies of life, as lead vocalist Sophie McComish explains:

“Palms comes from observing moments of concatenation, when everything in your life lines up in a way that feels like the universe is trying to tell you something. Ultimately though, regardless of whether you are in control of your own fate or if Lady Destiny might have something to do with it doesn’t really matter, the world still turns."

'Palms' shows off Body Type's fluid and dynamic post-punk sound, as it whistles smoothly through the high-energy verses and then ducks headlong into a frantic blink-and-you'll-miss-it chorus - but isn't that just like destiny to deliver the goods, only for them to be gone before you can appreciate it? Thankfully, Body Type swing back through the energetic chorus a few times so you can grab hold the second time, before they send free-floating in an acapella break down and a thunderous finale.

'Palms' is also released with a video which bassist Georgia Wilkinson-Derums describes by saying "The BT brigade went off road for our latest shoot. Thanks to Jack Wotton and crew who conceptualised a freaky, cheeky dreamscape for our latest singe, 'Palms'. We followed a trail to a location unknown and what happened next is all a dream."
