Having recently been announced for major festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury, we had an inkling it wouldn't be long before we heard some new Tame Impala. Kevin Parker surprise dropped a new track called 'Patience' last night, and it was worth the wait.

Picking up where they left off on Currents, 'Patience' is another slice of modern alt-pop with his now ubiquitous dreamy sheen. Clattering pianos introduce the track, and as soon as the tropical percussion kicks in we feel comfortably back in the paradise of Tame Impala's sound. Like 'Let It Happen' before it, 'Patience' reintroduces Tame Impala in a way that at first doesn't seem so far removed from where they were before, but just when you think you've got a handle on it the track shifts into new dimensions of glorious sonics that take the band's crystalline style into new realms. It's all a perfect vessel for Parker's worries and resolutions, which melt blissfully into the track.

Hopefully more news about the next Tame Impala album is not far away - keep your eyes and ears on The 405 for more news.
