Tamino, the Belgian-Egyptian songwriter who brought us the stunners 'Habibi' and 'Indigo Night', has announced that he will be releasing his debut album Amir on October 19th through Communion Records. While Tamino himself plays and sings almost everything on Amir, for a few tracks he is also joined by a collective of Arabic musicians based in Brussels called Nagham Zikrayat, which sounds like a very intriguing prospect.

The album announcement comes along with a new song called 'Persephone'. Similar to the previously released tracks, 'Persephone' is dominated by Tamino's warm and passionate voice hovering in the middle of the image, while spare acoustic guitar makes up a watery background. Listen closely enough and you'll hear extra atmospherics, which give Tamino's devotional lyrics an added weight. His natural magnetism is as powerful as ever, suggesting that Amir will be one of the most captivating releases of the year.

'Persephone' comes with a starkly shot black and white video starring Tamino himself. Watch and listen to 'Persephone' below.
