Free from the reigns of label limbo, Tanika is making up for lost time and delivering music by the barrel. A mere three weeks after making a bold, brash and boisterous return with 'Fuckboy', Tanika uses her pen and her voice to touch on a subject that's strikingly close to her heart with 'Officer'.

"When I saw the footage of Michael Brown's mum, I just started crying. I was just thinking if that was my son..." she told The FADER in an exclusive, extensive interview (where she also speaks in detail about her label dramas. "Coming from Brixton and knowing a mother who's lost her son, I'm not sure that many other people could have written about that. I can't be apologetic with anything I do."

The I AM TANIKA EP, along with further songs featuring man of the moment Stormzy, Chip and Wretch 32, is forthcoming ahead of a proper single, which is set to be released in the new year.
