Hobart, Tasmania's A. Swayze & the Ghosts have already made a strong impression on their recent singles, and continue that today with their most outspoken track yet, 'Connect To Consume'. Bandleader Swayze intro's the track by saying:

“We have exchanged honesty, beauty, ugliness, boredom–reality–for an abstract museum inside a digitised screen, curated by big business but sustained by us. We have volunteered to pace the halls blindly, loudly. We are promised the pain of life will numb. We are given a rule for everything. We submit, we succeed. We do not feel; we do not need to anymore. We have accepted the prison and adorned the uniforms under the guise of convenience. We have connected and now we will consume.”

Many people have been outspoken about the ways that social media has changed and negatively affected our daily lives, but rarely have they been so effusive as A. Swayze & the Ghosts on 'Connect To Consume'. Spouting names of the innumerable sites over a propulsive and shredding guitar line, Swayze's disgust at their hollowness is audible just in the way he spits them out. He then goes into a more detailed diatribe through the song's mid-section, his dextrous band following him down the angry path, backing him to the nines and guiding the song into a rousing chant-along chorus.

'Connect To Consume' also comes with a video, which you can watch below.

As Swayze admits in the above quote, "we have accepted the prison," and the band knows that social media is key to getting support in the modern day, therefore you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Bandcamp.
