It's been two years in the making, but Manchester alt-pop quartet The 1975 are back. After constantly teasing their fans for the better part of the last year with everything but new music - a totally new aesthetic and new tour dates all around the world - today they premiered their new single 'Love Me' with Annie Mac on Radio 1.

The band had literally just flown in from Los Angeles, where they finished recording their highly anticipated album I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, and it marks a huge new chapter for the group. They've channeled their inner Duran Duran/INXS/Prince in all the best ways, embracing the pop mentality that made The 1975 tracks 'Girls' and 'Heart Out' fan favorites. If this isn't enough 1975 news, though, the band are also hinting that the track's got a new video on its way at midnight tonight on their Twitter.

They've got their sights set on being the world's biggest pop band, and if 'Love Me' is any indication - they're well on their way there. Get ready for chapter 2 of The 1975 - I Like It When You Sleep will be out in February, and you can listen to their full interview with Annie Mac below (the song begins at about the 3:30 mark).
