Head here to visit The 405's SXSW 2014 hub.

With the Music side of SXSW kicking off today, Shell Zenner has put together a rather handy A-Z guide of bands playing this week. She's also put together a playlist, which you can listen to below.

The 1975 - are impossible to categorise, so it's quite fitting that they are the only number-based band that I've mentioned in this list. Their debut self-titled album was a smash hit in the UK in 2013 and the US should take notice.

A-ges and Ages have a sound that builds and builds and I think that their folky uplifting vibes will generate one of the feel good sets of the festival. If you're more of a cool kid, then Neon Gold records ASTR, a duo from New City and their electronic vibes should enlighten your ears. If you like your music more on the eclectic side of the tracks then don't miss Afrikan Boy.

B-ANKS has been all over the tips for 2014 lists and I'll be vying for a place in a venue to see her showcase her incredible vocals. Manchester son Bipolar Sunshine will be bringing his impressive pop vibes along for the ride, or if you need to check a raw live show then Bo Ningen are the band for you. Austin favourites The Black Angels and the Black Lips will be rocking out and Bear's Den, Boy & Bear and Breton will all be an impressive watch. Personally I'm hoping to grab my first glance of Big Ups and a shed load of BBQ.

C-hance The Rapper's shows would probably only be harder to get into if he was wearing a meat dress.. so queue early guys and gals. Cate Le Bon's live shows are an absolute treat so try not to miss out! Sheffield band The Crookes secured UK music industry funding to bring third album Soapbox back to the US and other recommendations on my list are Carousel, Casual Sex, Chloe Howl, CYMBALS, Chet Faker and Cherry Glazerr.

D-renge have slayed everything and everyone in their path over the past couple of years and Austin is the next place on their list. Watch out! Electronic vibes aplenty with Duologue and Dauwd playing and UK acts Daley and Dems should figure in your plans too.

E-agulls released their incredible punk debut album last week, Electric eye and Empress Of impressed me at Iceland Airwaves festival and Ezra Furman will be a definite one to check out live.

F-at White Family's shows have been renowned in the UK of late as messy and mental affairs and it's bound to be HOT HOT HOT in Austin. Austin based Feathers toured with Depeche Mode in the last month or so. Liverpool artist Forest Swords released a rather special album in 2013 which you really should hear.

G-ossling has an unmistakeable voice that I can't wait to check out live, but you should wrap your ears around Glass Animals, Glitches, GRMLN and Gems too!

H-ighasakite sound delicious in more ways than one with their brand of Norwegian indie pop and are high on my list to check out live. H Hawkline not only plays in Cate Le Bon's band but will be stepping out of the shadows to play solo at the festival. HAERTS and Holy Esque will also be showcasing new music which I'm keen to hear.

I-ndian Jewelry were completely impressive at Austin Psychfest 2013 and lend a slightly more leftfield sound to the proceedings. The Burger Records and Austin Psychfest line-ups will be must sees this year.

J-ungle are incredibly hard to google, very mysterious and will be one of the hype bands at this year's festival. Jessy Lanza and Jetta will also be on my list of fresh new female talent to check on the show this year!

K-ins are from Brighton yet I travelled to Leicester to finally see them live. Saying that, they're worth travelling to Austin to see. I have yet to experience the wonder that is Kirin J Callinan live - his one Manchester show had rave reviews and I'll see you down the front yeah?

L-a Luz from Seattle are an all girl group that I wish to get to know better! I won't be missing them for sure. Lizzo will be offering some bangers and other choice picks are London Grammar, Lowell and the upbeat sound of Lucius.

M-Ø is at the top of my M list after a huge queue stopped me seeing her In Iceland! Melt Yourself Down have incredible live shows though, so get yourself down for sure!

N-o Joy and their brooding sound will bliss you out and Nina Nesbitt is certainly one to watch.

The O-rwells ramshackle and energetic live show will be just the tonic after too many tacos.

P-erfect Pussy released a tape on Captured Tracks last year and have their debut album due for release next week. Manchester babes Pins will blow your mind and if you want to get stoned and starving, I suspect there is no one better to do it with than Parquet Courts. Painted Palms, Panama, Petite Noir, Phantogram, The Preatures and Prides are also stellar additions to the SXSW line up.

Q-uilt. Yes I love my bed and their album HUGELY. Must see.

R-oyal Blood have UK shows set up supporting Arctic Monkeys and were one of the BBC's tips for 2014. You'd be a fool not to see them. Radkey, Rathborne, RDGLDGRN, Roosevelt, Royal Canoe and Ryan Hemsworth are all on my list too!

S-pires just released a seven inch on Too Pure Singles club and if you dig Temples then check them. Jules and Sandra from Dum Dum Girls feature in Sisu who I'll definitelu be checking out and I'm in love with the poppy summery Ski Lodge album so I'll be seeing that for sure! Montreal's Solids, Supreme Cuts and Sylvan Esso will be in demand too.

T-humpers released their debut album on Subpop recently and have supported Chvrches too! Tallows, Team Me, TEEN, Teeth Of The Sea, To Kill A King, TOPS, TORRES, Tourist, Traams and of course Temples will all be a good way to spend your time.

U-ntil The Ribbon Breaks will be playing the British Embassy alongside UNKNWN and it's a free RSVP if you're quick. Showcase the taste of the UK!

V-ancouver Sleep Clinic offer atmospheric sounds from Brisbane, Australia and are riding high in the Amazing Radio chart at present. Australia also has another great musical export in Vance Joy who will be impressing ears.

W-olf Alice, Woman's Hour and The Wytches are three of the UK's most exciting emerging artists at present, in terms of American talent, Washed Out, Wet and the awesome Wanda Jackson are playing!

X is for eXhausted. You will be after five days full on in Austin!

Y-oung Summer is the moniker of DC based singer songwriter Bobbie Allen who's at the top of my Y list, closely followed by Young Fathers and Young Magic.

The Z-oltars are based in Austin, channel garage rock vibes and have released on Burger and Sundae Records. Which reminds me - the diet starts here!
