Christmas songs don’t have to be tacky, horrible excuses that get dragged out once a year to make a quick buck for the artist (or whatever major label they are tied to). Some artists do it for love, just read the sleeve notes for the Sufjan box set and you’ll no doubt fall in love. His song ‘Sister Winter’ is up their with his finest work, the same could be said of Ron Sexsmith’s ‘Maybe This Christmas’. When The 405 asked me to put together a festive playlist I guess the easy option would be to simply tell readers to go listen to the Phil Spector record but that’d just be lazy. I have included two tracks from it though as it is THE finest and most complete Christmas record of all time. Enjoy! Happy holidays etc etc. Luka x Tracklisting You can listen to the playlist by clicking here! 1. Ron Sexsmith – 'Maybe This Christmas' 2. Sufjan Stevens – 'Sister Winter' 3.
