I'm Gus and I play drums and sing in Sucioperro. The line-up is completed by my illustrious amigo Mr JP Reid on Guitar and lead vox, and my main hombre Mr Stewart Chown on Bass and singing. JP writes the tunes and we knock them around and try to play and sing them as best we can. That's pretty much how it goes down. Listening to: I just got into Spotify recently and it's sort of changed my listening habits a little but I've been listening to a lot of Robyn (Robyn and Body Talk), John Mayer, The Xcerts (who are one of my favourite bands at the moment) and quite a lot of Paul Simon actually. I got a copy of his Essential and there are some absolute diamonds on there, new and old. I also got Pearl Jam's new live album Live On Ten Legs and it is incredible, I've always been a massive fan but I guess I've not seen them live for years and it was refreshing to hear how much they still really rock. Their last album Backspacer was also a real treat, they sound so fresh every time, just a great band. Prince, Straight Lines, The Script, Rage Against The Machine are all recent on my iTunes. Reading: Not much actually, I'm quite into WWII history since watching Band Of Brothers a few years ago and I started this epic tome 'The Second World War: A Complete History' by Martin Gilbert. It's a great book don't get me wrong but I hit the wall with it about halfway through and I don't feel like I can start anything else until I finish it. Before that the last thing I read was 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy which was one of the best novels I can remember. Bleak and heartbreaking but with a great deal of hope and beauty. In my queue I have the Lance Armstrong book 'It's Not About The Bike' (I'm a big cycling/sports fan) and also 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak. Watching: At the movies I saw 'True Grit' which I really believe is a great movie. The Coen Brothers at their best I think which I was glad about because I went to see 'A Serious Man' and really didn't enjoy it. I watched 'Despicable Me' the other day and really enjoyed it, good for a chuckle or two if you like kids movies and the Pharrell Williams original music makes it come alive. I've got 'The Pacific' to watch on Blu-Ray which I'm really looking forward to and I've also got 'Mad Men' 1 & 2 ready to go. Limmy's Show is a comedy sketch show we get here in Scotland and it is incredible, it totally cracks me up. Playing: I play a lot of Modern Warfare 2 online multiplayer. The whole band plays and a lot of our mates do too. It is really addictive and I think I can say it's probably the best game ever. I know it's totally ubiquitous and I know it has its down sides but running around the battlefield with your mates shooting the place up just never gets tiring. And no-one needs to get hurt. lso I'm making my way through Mario Galaxy 2, it's a bit too much like the first one, but it doesn't matter because it's a great format. Eating: As much Indian food as I can get my hands on. I recently got pretty good at an improvised curry sauce so I make a Paneer cheese curry quite a lot but yeah, I could eat Indian food all day every day. I also love Pizza and I'm having porridge and banana for breakfast most days, it's like baby food. Yum. Oh and too many sweets, I have a Marshmallow problem at the moment.
