It’s simple: the pop music that leaves us affected are the songs that are the most personal. It definitely takes a while for artists to realize this, but when they do, they can’t be stopped. This is definitely the case with Norwegian pop singer, Astrid S. Her latest songs showcase piercing vulnerability within the lyrics and are contrasted with powerful dance beats infused in technicolour. Along with her musical talent, she’s also a bubbly human-being. Always willing to share stories and thoughts on the world around her, Ken Grand-Pierre met up with Astrid S to talk music, writing in LA, and why being honest gets you further than anything else.

“That’s what pop music is to me.”
