You can’t be a bigger fan of Dawn Richard than Dawn Richard herself, but you definitely can try. On today’s podcast we welcome the New Orleans native to talk about her latest project New Breed. It’s easily going to be one of the albums we’ll remember the most from 2019, largely due to how DAWN forces us to re-think everything we thought we knew about R&B. Futurism is the connective tissue that holds this project together, and it’s done so in such a perfect way that it’s hard to believe this is still early days for DAWN’s career. Originally a member of pop group Danity Kane, DAWN has truly redefined what it means to go solo. Ken Grand-Pierre sat with DAWN in New York to go deep into New Breed.
