Vitality within a creative career is the thing everyone hopes for but rarely aims for. And how could you, aim for that? Who can predict how vital a group will be in the future? Luckily for Birmingham legends Editors, being vital has been a constant mainstay of their career.

Their upcoming sixth album, Violence, only propels that aspect of their career further. It’s a body of work that is full of experimentation but never allows the element of melody to be lost within the myriad of sounds going on. It’d be impossible to talk about this album without dissecting it, and luckily the band were up for the task.

Ken Grand-Pierre caught up with frontman Tom Smith and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Justin Lockey to discuss each track off of Violence.

“This is our sixth album and I find a lot of significance in that.”
