The feeling of an honest band on stage is one that can’t be fought, and Scotland’s Fatherson gloriously fits that bill. Over the last few years, the band has climbed the ranks as one of Scotland’s most premier acts, showcasing a talent of heart-wrenching lyrics being carried by aggressively infectious guitar chords and drums. Part of the charm of Fatherson is a sense of directness, both on stage and off, which made them prime candidates for the podcast. Ken Grand-Pierre met up with the trio ahead of a late night NYC show.

“We learned how to write songs in a live environment.”
