One of our favourite things about the podcast is when we can introduce you to interesting acts that you might not be familiar with. Enter Loah - a talented artist who hails from both Ireland and Sierra Leone. Loah takes the colourful rhythmic palette of Sierra Leone and melds it with the bluntness that you can only find in Ireland. The end result is music like nothing you’ve ever heard before, both in literal sound and presentation. She’s a beacon of change; an example of the one-of-a-kind art that can exist in Ireland, and we promise you that you’ll soon be seeing her everywhere. A few weeks back, Loah was in New York to play the annual Craic Festival at Mercury Lounge, so Ken Grand-Pierre decided to catch up with her for this special episode of the 405 Exchange podcast. Listen below.

“It’s really important for me to see spaces where people are nurturing the spirit of the arts.”
