A career can feel like a burning flame. Over time, you expect it to peter out, but there’s some that keep the flame vigorously alive. Miles Kane is a prime example of this, and with his latest solo offering, Coup De Grace, his flame has never shone brighter. On the album, we find a lyrically more revealing Kane, who’s also fallen back in love with the guitar. You’re given splendid guitar chords track after track, and it’s clear how much his musicianship has grown from his time with The Last Shadow Puppets. To find out how the album came to be, Ken Grand-Pierre caught up with Kane via Skype, ahead of a sold-out show in Belgium.

“That stuff doesn’t really happen.”
