It’s a beautiful thing when you’re reminded that creatives can exist without ego. To be in a room with Tank & The Bangas is to recognize just that; passion is all they have. That comes across on this episode, along with the sheer joy they have towards releasing their latest album, Green Balloon. The album touches upon specific instances of being a black woman in America in 2018/2019, while also showcasing a blistering love of colour and the messiness of life. Ken Grand-Pierre met up with the band for an in-depth talk about how the album came to be.

“When someone says they’re listening to 'Mr. Lion', it makes me want to go listen to 'Mr. Lion'.”
