Sisters Jakiya Ayanna and Shaina Aisha are The Amours, an R&B project out of Washington DC who are truly making waves. Effortlessly alternating between singing silky tones and belting out powerful harmonies, Along with being the backing singers of PJ Morton’s live band, The Amours are also the first signees of PJ Morton’s record label, Morton Records, which released their debut EP Mon Amour. The EP touches upon the specific feelings that many black American women can relate to - an element to their songwriting that The Amours don’t shy away from.
