A BRIT award, wildly acclaimed singles, sold out shows, and a highly anticipated album? You wouldn’t read that and think we’d be talking about the start of a career, but weirdly enough we are; specifically the case of Tom Walker. His powerful yet delicate songs have reached the nation far and wide, also reaching out to the wider world. His debut album, What A Time To Be Alive, is a collection of songs that’ll effortlessly be stuck in your head while leaving a smile on your face. It’s important that to have this success, one would be grounded, and that’s clearly the case with Walker. He laughs at any mention of the last few months but is also keenly ambitious of what’s to come. Ken Grand-Pierre met up with Tom in New York to discuss how his debut album came to be.

“It’s been a mad year, already!”
