Sharon Van Etten – Thekla // 10th July 2012

It's a quiet week in the west country, which is generally the theme of this summer really. At least we have the lovely Sharon Van Etten doing two gigs in Bristol this week, with this being the headline gig of the two. Although the novelty of going to a gig on a boat wore off for the majority of Bristolians a long time ago, you can always play a bit of 'see if the band mention the fact they are playing on a boat' game (It's not copyrighted or anything). There will be words and possibly clapping (perhaps wooping), what more could you possibly want?

Nina Nesbitt – Deaf Institute// 13th July 2012

Beautiful. Scottish. Performing at some of this year’s biggest festivals. Has a cameo in an Ed Sheeran Video. Pretty impressive resume for this 17 year old songstress, right? Ok, forget the Ed Sheeran bit and focus on her amazing talent. And, at the Deaf Institute, this is sure to be a lovely evening.

Poliça - Rough Trade East // 12th July 2012

They've released one of the best albums of the year, and to celebrate they're playing a free show at Rough Trade East. Well you need to buy a copy of the album to get a wristband for the show, but you could risk it and hope you get one of the free ones. However, we suggest you just buy the album though as it's pretty amazing. A gig and an album for around £10? Sounds good to us.
