Love building things on the Internet that make people go wow? Got a few hours to spare to learn some skills? Want to work with one of the country's leading online digital publications and web design companies? Well get in touch!

We're looking for a bright and creative intern, brimming with ideas, to work with our development team on a number of projects to further progress The 405's website. Skills we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

  • Standards compliant CSS and HTML
  • Ruby on Rails development
  • SQL database work
  • Cloud hosting and asset management
  • Website performance enhancement skills
  • Javascript (specifically the jQuery library)
  • API development
  • Test Driven Development
  • A familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.

If you've done .Net or PHP (or any other development) work before and would like to get stuck into some Rails work then this is the perfect opportunity.

We have a number of small projects we are looking to complete and the right candidate will be allowed the freedom to choose what they would most like to work on. These projects will include application design, the production of HTML, Ruby, SQL and jQuery code and testing.

The selected candidates will be expected to work remotely. As a result, there are no strict hours per week to work towards but deadlines will be put in place to ensure project goals are met.

The most important aspect for these roles are that you are: self motivated, interested in this domain of work and have shown some initiative in developing your own websites in the past, no matter what size or scale. Skills can be learnt as the intern progresses and help and guidance will be offered where possible by our development team. Where possible, please send us a URL to your portfolio of previous work for us to take a gander at.

This is a sound opportunity (no pun intended) for any budding developers, students or such like, to get a well respected, popular and busy website into their portfolio and under their belts.

Please email if you're interested.
