Wherever you are in the world: good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night. It is time for your 5 a day.

One day, the UK government said, "You should eat 5 portions of fruit or veg[etables] per day." Turns out you should probably eat more than that. But we think it's pretty catchy, so we've hijacked it. Here we'll list FIVE pieces of music per DAY that we think you should check out. As the Italians say, we'll be catching two pigeons with one bean (prendere due piccioni con una fava): we help spread the word about MORE artists, plus we're giving YOU more music to listen to. It's all a joy for us, really!

Falls produces for DUVV, resulting in a swirling hazy softness of sound. A coastal, lo-fi psychedelica dripping from the Henry Demos song, we move to KidGhost and his rich textures and refreshing flavours. steelix (great name! – uh, you know Steelix is a Pokémon, right?) teams with falcxne for some luscious neo-lounge music. Sensual, tactile sounds courtesy of the brilliantly named CAPTPIZZA (that's my kinda captain). Here are some snippets of micro-fiction to illustrate the aforelisted sounds.

Delicate state of mind walking amidst commuters. You trip slightly, over absolutely nothing, but manage to keep your balance. All eyes are on me, you think. Please, stop looking.

You're spending a day at a childhood seaside destination as an adult. Everything is just memories now. "We can still have fun," you say to nobody in particular. You go to buy an ice cream.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" You look up from your book, but don't meet his eyes. Pushing your hair from your face, you half-clear your throat as you say, "No, no, please…" — "Thanks," he says, disappearing with the chair. I thought you were going to sit with me, you think. You read the same paragraph over and over.

Train from Surrey suburbs en route to London Waterloo, spring sun streams in through the windows: "Wow, have you seen this app?" one friend says to another, pulling her closer. She leans over the screen. "That's so cool." She goes back to her own phone and accesses the the App Store.

"Actually, I got something to tell you…" – "What?" she replies. – "I know we've been friends for a long time, but…" You delete your words. I'm taking too long, you think. "Do you remember at your party when we…" You delete everything again. "Nothing! (Laughing emoji) (Cat emoji)" You send it. – "Haha you're funny (Angel emoji)" she replies. You can't reply, go to bury your face in your pillow. She sends a yellow heart emoji.
