Wherever you are in the world: good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night. It is time for your 5 a day.

One day, the UK government said, "You should eat 5 portions of fruit or veg[etables] per day." Turns out you should probably eat more than that. But we think it's pretty catchy, so we've hijacked it. Here we'll list FIVE pieces of music per DAY that we think you should check out. As the Italians say, we'll be catching two pigeons with one bean (prendere due piccioni con una fava): we help spread the word about MORE artists, plus we're giving YOU more music to listen to. It's all a joy for us, really!

Hey! Yes, it's the New Music Dispatch again. We have the luscious real world folktronica sounds of Isolde to begin with, running all the way to vbnd frenetic bass-heavy electronics. In between these two worthy slices there's Krs. with some nuanced beats, some sad low-key music from Bēēchwōōd, then some ultra-liquid chillment from Spanish producer O C H Ø A as the filling. The theme, unplanned by the way – just what we envisaged when we listened to these beautiful tracks – seems to be WATER. We got lake, river, bath, rain, sea: all great bodies of water.

On a rowboat in a slightly misty lake

Pascal from Animal Crossing hears this as he floats down the river…

Walking in the rain, sad and confused

Having a warm and totally deserved bath ahead of a chilled evening

Sitting on a beach at night; waves toppling ahead of you; lights in the distance
