Wherever you are in the world: good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night. It is time for your 5 a day.

One day, the UK government said, "You should eat 5 portions of fruit or veg[etables] per day." Turns out you should probably eat more than that. But we think it's pretty catchy, so we've hijacked it. Here we'll list FIVE pieces of music per DAY that we think you should check out. As the Italians say, we'll be catching two pigeons with one bean (prendere due piccioni con una fava): we help spread the word about MORE artists, plus we're giving YOU more music to listen to. It's all a joy for us, really!

Wakey wakey. It's 5:00 am and the floating monitor in your room zips in front of your face. The news plays: rapid images of a thousand global events condensed into just a few minutes of your time. The holo-windows of your hemmed in apartment flicker into life. Today you're looking out over a rainforest. Yesterday it was the antiquated city state of New York, circa 2011. Your block, built in 2135, is teeming with already obsolete technological quirks. Pushing away the hi-speed blabber of talkshows nattering on the floating monitor, you tap two fingers to your wrist and a screen materialises. Scrolling through with rapid eye movements, you put on some a little playlist of 21st century music. Sometimes the oldies are the best.
