It must be a surprising thing, what ends up inspiring one's art. To go through a time of darkness and come out the other side with a beautiful piece of work is truly magnificent, and this is what's transpired with pop singer Ella Vos. After experiencing postpartum depression, she found herself unsure where to go creatively. What she ended up doing was digging deep within, and finding the lyrics within her honesty. Her debut album, Words I Never Said, is a candidly direct account of her experiences, as well as a beautiful array of intricate pop beats.

For the latest edition of the 405 Exchange podcast, Ken Grand-Pierre spoke to Ella about postpartum depression, the evolution of her track 'Down In Flames', realizing she could be a mother and musician, the story behind Words I Never Said. Check out their conversation below.
