It’s a beautiful thing when musicians allow themselves to be more than musicians. There’s that old fear of people demanding that musicians stay in their lanes, to only play songs and not talk about the world; but good luck telling that to LA-based artist Sophie Strauss. She's a musician, but also an activist and a fierce believer in humans being good to each other.

For the latest edition of the 405 Exchange podcast, Ken Grand-Pierre spoke to Sophie about what she missed about New York, the importance of dialogue, and how the state of the world can inadvertently inspire. Check out their conversation below.

“I miss being in my headphones and pretending like I’m a character in a movie.”
