Divorce is one of the most relatable experiences any human can go through, and yet many people find it hard to talk about. Luckily, you can always count on art to shed light on the dark, and The Kickback's latest album, Weddings & Funerals, is a prime example of that. Frontman Billy Yost has written an intensely direct re-telling of the breakdown of his marriage, while still working with his band on making the most honest album they could muster. It's a weird contrast, these aggressively heartbreaking songs that are also fist-bumpingly fun, but The Kickback are damn good at it.

For the latest edition of the 405 Exchange podcast, Ken Grand-Pierre spoke to The Kickback about discussing the band's own podcast series, divorce, finding fun and other meanings within the album, and David Foster Wallace. Check out their conversation below.
