London cult favourites The Clientele just put out their long-awaited comeback album Music For The Age Of Miracles last month, just at the dawn of Autumn. This is most appropriate is it is the time when their music is most perfect in its picturesqueness, and the album has remained in constant rotation since, as the days have become colder and shorter, their cosy melodies and comforting instrumentation gently enfolding listeners like a familiar blanket in front of a roaring fire.

Today we have the pleasure of premiering the video for 'The Neighbour', the opening track from Music For The Age Of Miracles, and an ideal primer for anyone new to The Clientele. Visually, the video picks up on the same comfortingly familiar images and feelings as the band's music; busy city interchanges, lights of the city in the dark, the merciful warmth of escaping the streets for somewhere familiar.

Singer Alasdair MacLean says of the video "We filmed around Lea Bridge Road and the Hackney Marshes. We lived there in the late ’90s when the area was the last stop on the line before homelessness and there were dead bears in the river, pushed in by travelling circuses. It’s now a hipster enclave but at night it’s still deserted, so we shot as the sun went down around warehouses and empty yuppie flats, along the River Lea and Millfields Park, in an attempt to copy the end scenes of The Eclipse by Antonioni. The band performance was shot in a house near Finsbury Park, where we were joined by Anthony Harmer on guitar and vocals and Sebastian Millett on cello."

Watch the video, put together by Andy Willsher, below. The Clientele will be touring the US in November, as well as returning to London's Scala for a home town gig in March; dates are beneath.
