This years Grammy’s were surrounded by tragedy, shrouded in controversy and ended with a South Londoner needing to pay a hefty excess baggage charge when she flies home later this week. With the news that Whitney Houston had been found dead in a hotel room just hours earlier, the ceremony host LL Cool J started the evening with a tribute and prayer for the powerful singer before showing an archive performance of Houston singing ‘I Will Always Love You’.

The biggest winner on the night was of course Adele winning no less than 6 Grammy’s including the best song, best album and best vocal. Bon Iver picked up best new comer of the back of his… err… second record, while Foo Fighters picked up 3 gongs including best rock album.

Controversy was added to proceedings with Chris Brown not just picking up the award for best R&B album but by performing twice on what is essentially the 3 year anniversary of his assault on ex girlfriend Rhianna, what do you guys think, he served the time and has the right to perform if he’s won or was it a decision made in bad taste by the organizers and does it highlight Brown’s lack of moral fiber that he was prepared to stand up there in the first place? Let us know your thoughts below.
