Avant garde doomweaver Bobby Krlic, better known as The Haxan Cloak has revealed details of his second full-length, following on from his 2011 debut. Titled Excavation, it will apparently contain more synthetic influences and feature more synthesized noises. It's due for release April 15 (April 30 in the US) through Tri Angle Records. The London-based artist will explore more minimalist elements on his sophomore effort, toying with the silence between notes and using the lack of sound as another instrument in itself, for even more tantalising tension.

The first cut from his new LP is The Mirror Reflecting (Part 2), a sprawling soundscape of babbling grunts of bass and the soaring slices of sheer Orbital-remixing-Doctor Who synth. It's an enormous mechanical beast exploring the seedy underbelly of ambient doomwave via electronica. It snarls and lollops with hulking thwomps of kick drum, often carried by expansive silence and the murmuring percussive heartbeat.
