Depending on which generation you were born into, 'The History of Apple Pie’ will either conjure images of sordid, teenage sexual acts or the white picket fenced American Dream. The generation this London based quintet plunges straight into (excuse the imagery) is the mid to late 80s’ Dinosaur Jr., My Funny Valentine led shoegaze era.

'Some Kind' starts with the kind of fuzz Sonic Youth used to throw at you whenever they had an experimental urge to cause death-by-feedback. Survive past those opening seconds though and the song suddenly thrusts (sorry there’s that sexual imagery again) into a pacy reminder of one of alternative music’s great movements.
