"We, The Knife, will be performing live. We will be there, on stage, all seven of us, sometimes all ten of us, or even more. We have worked hard, together. Things, ideas, concepts have been tried, tested, discarded, evolved, perfected and discarded again."

The Knife have such a tight control over their image/direction, that even a press release announcing the support 'activities' for their forthcoming tour has their fingers all over it.

Whilst support slots for most artists would require a tweet at best, The Knife are a bit different. Without re-publishing the entire thing (read it here), basically the band will be opening their tour dates with Absurdist Aerobics, "[a] class taught by a master-teacher-guru-shaman-dictator-aerobics instructor- new age workshop leader, Tarek Halaby."

"Take one class and you are instantly a certified master teacher of the form," claims the press release. "No yearly dues, fees, reports. Just give credit to Miguel Gutierrez."

If you're attending the Stockholm shows you'll also get DANCEOKE with ÖFA-KOLLEKTIVET (an artist collective and feminist support group) and COOL PANS ("The biggest steel band in Scandinavia!").

It will end with the following DJ sets (more to be announced):

  • Amsterdam (6th May): Shinedoe
  • Berlin (May 11th): rRoxymore
  • London (May 8th and 9th): Hannah Holland
  • Copenhagen (May 12th and 13th): Pernille Krog Mogensen
  • Stockholm (May 16th): Lemieux
  • Stockholm (May 17th): Lemieux & Jin Mustafa b2b
