The Knife are back with the bizarre 'För alla namn vi inte får använda'. The Swedish duo have in fact created a soundtrack for the political cabaret Europa Europa, a project that deals with Sweden and EU's migration politics, and this is its first extract.

Heavily reliant on its rhythms section, the track features Karin Dreijer Andersson singing in her native Swedish, fully taking centre stage with a powerful vocal performance. Her voice is authoritative and abrasive and cast against the glitchy and swivelling sounds of a keyboard, feels like an unstoppable force of nature. Along with the track, the accompanying visuals are equally entrancing. The video features a group of dancers of all ages performing what they describe as a "political macarena", something the people who will be attending the performance show should definitely learn as soon as possible.

Europa Europa will premiere on July 1 in Almedale, Visby, and will follow with the dates below.

  • 15 August: Göteborg
  • 16 August: Malmö
  • 23 August: Tensta, Stockholm
  • 30 + 31 August: Vitabergsparken, Stockholm (Parkteatern/Kulturhuset Stadsteatern)
